Glasgow's concrete buildings reflect a time when people dared to dream

Go back 50 years, and there was nothing more unfashionable than Victorian art and architecture. The ornate ironwork, the floral frilliness, the gothic motifs. It was all hopelessly dowdy. A few eccentric enthusiasts extolled its virtues, but popular opinion was adamant. There was nothing of merit here. Victoriana ought to be consigned to history.
