To win $50,000, a player must match four numbers and the Powerball number. The next Powerball drawing will take place on Saturday night. The jackpot has already climbed to $800 million, and could go even higher depending on ticket sales ahead of the drawing. The jackpot is poised to be the fifth-most valuable prize ever awarded in a U.S. lottery drawing. Earlier this year, a Powerball jackpot worth $1.337 billion was won by an individual who purchased the ticket in Illinois.
